Frost Valley Catskills Camping Trip, May 2009

Former graduating teens from PS 57 volunteering for the "Eibs Pond Youth Leadership Project" assisted younger 5th grade students attending PS 57 during a trip to the Frost Valley YMCA in the Catskills. Eibs Pond Education Program and PS 57 staff and parents supervised the trip on Mothers Day weekend during May 2009. The group released classroom trout and learned about the watershed through real life hands-on experiences. The group also conducted comparative water studies both upstate and downstate with their matching upstate pen pals. The group learned first hand the hard work needed to maintain our drinking water in its natural state without filtration.
